Breathe Out, Breathe In
As I breathe out I mourn, I surrender, I let go, I release. With every exhalation I am saying goodbye to the older versions of myself.
My old beliefs, my old fears, my old stories...all are released with a weird sense of melancholy.
As I breathe in I rejoice, I celebrate, I laugh, I expand. With every inhalation I am welcoming the new versions of myself.
I nearly weep in gratitude as I herald in the new, as I birth this version of myself I have been wanting for so long.
What an incredible paradox.
To die and be reborn as I breathe. As I sit here in the midst of initiation as I fully understand and embody death and rebirth.
How is it possible to mourn parts of myself that I have wanted to release for years? Why do I feel the ache of loss as I let go of stories I have held onto for decades?
I asked for this...I worked for this...I suffered for this.
How can my pure excitement and gratitude for the new versions of myself be tinged with fear and terror of the unknown.
How awful is the weight of choices, the monumental gravitas of decisions.
How can I fully embrace the new when I am still mourning the old. What does the new versions of me even look like.
How do I know how to act when this is a whole new me? Who am I?
How do I find the courage to awaken each day with that shaky new born feeling, how do I take those first steps and start to relearn who I am?
Just Breathe...
Initiation is here, rebirth is here, growth is here...its okay to surrender, it's safe to let go.
